The Fire Gardens are lighting up Brisbane this September!

Together with renowned French artists Compagnie Carabosse, Brisbane Festival is transforming Brisbane City’s 191-year-old Botanic Gardens into a fiery wonderland of sculptures, terracotta urns and handcrafted fire pots – all holding thousands of individual flames!

From Wednesday 11th September through to Saturday 14th September, the Fire Gardens installation offers four magical nights of leaping flames, sculptures that flicker and dance, fiery urns and a soundtrack every bit as brilliant as the garden itself.

While the full Brisbane Festival 2019 program won’t be released until July, the Fire Garden is sure to be a highlight. Festival organisers are expecting around 40,000 people to walk through the gardens and marvel at the custom designed display. There will be 30 giant fire palettes, holding 6720 fire pots and 600 different ‘fire bulbs’ will be hung from trees throughout the gardens. A 120 metre ‘charcoal river’ will also wind through the gardens, with an estimated 14,000kg of charcoal burnt over the 4-night show.
