1.Theme Parks

We put this first because it’s really a no-brainer! The Theme Parks – from Wet and Wild through to Dreamland – are really one of the best places to take the kids when you’re staying near Brisbane. Plus they’re only a 25 minute drive from Brisbane Holiday Village!

2. The Gold Coast

Surfs up! The Gold Coast is a short, 50 minute drive from Brisbane and is a great place to take the kids. They’ll lap up the waves, enjoy building some sand castles and the whole family will enjoy the beautiful beaches.

3. South Bank

South Bank is a must see while in Brisbane, where else can you laze around a man-made beach in the middle of the city! With plenty of food and shopping options for you and the kids, it’ll be hard not to spend a full day here. There is always something fun happening at South Bank so make sure you check to see what is on while you are in Brisbane.

4. The Museum

The Museum of Brisbane is an interesting and educational location that’s just perfect for a holiday with the kids. While camping out around Brisbane can be a great way to get in touch with the great outdoors, the kids will benefit from some indoor learning here. If you get time, the Science Centre is right next door to the museum and the kids will love the interactive displays.

5. Mt Coot-tha Lookout

Take the kids on a walk to JC Slaughter Falls and see art work by local Aboriginal artists along the way. Then head up to the lookout for one of the most amazing views of Brisbane city and to top it off, treat the kids to an ice-cream at the cafe, after all it wouldn’t be a family holiday without ice cream!

6. Parks and Gardens

8. Family Time At the Drive-In

Brisbane has its very own  drive in theatre, a rarity in this day and age. Load up the car with some drinks and snacks and catch a family friendly movie or two! Only 20 minutes drive from Brisbane Holiday Village.

Brisbane offers a number of cool markets. Located at South Bank, Riverside, Fortitude Valley, New Farm Park and West End – there will be plenty of stalls to keep the kids entertained, and you might be able to pick up some local treasures as well.

10. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Finally, help teach your kids about the importance of sustainability and animal welfare at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Educating the future generation about caring for the planet is one of the most important tasks as a parent.
