The Spirits of the Red Sand is located halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, at Beenleigh.
To get there from Brisbane, follow the signs to the Pacific Motorway and the Gold Coast. Take Exit 35 and follow Main Street Beenleigh South off-ramp to Beenleigh Historic Village.

A Unique Experience
Connect with Aboriginal culture like never before! The Spirits of the Red Sand is an interactive evening of Aboriginal Culture and local Australian cuisine.
Offering a moving-theatre style entertainment and dining experience, the 2.5-hour performance combines story-telling, theatre; music, dance and traditional chanting to bring alive the action and transport the audience back in time.
Guests are invited to follow the Storyteller through diverse sets including bushland, an early settlers’ village and a pre-colonial Aboriginal community, while listening to the true story of three Aboriginal brothers as they journey from Dreamtime to 1800’s Australia.
As part of the Spirits of the Red Sands experience, guests are treated to a delicious three course meal of local Australian cuisine

Dreamtime beliefs
Stories of the creation of all things. Why traditions are set and the importance of each tradition within everyday Aboriginal life.
Mirigan Village:
Smoking ceremony
An action of cleansing the spiritual man by passing through the smoke of fire.
Corroboree
Dance, celebration, story-sharing and communication.
The tradition of culture:
Gunya
Traditionally constructed pre-European huts from paper bark.
Fire-lighting
Traditional practises for fire-lighting.
Clothing
A blend of both traditional and turn of the century clothing worn.
Hunting
A display of instruments and implements used in hunting, cooking and healing within the settlement.
Funeral Ceremony
The materials and practices used to send the departed back to the spirit world.
