In November 2011 the annual State Conference of the Caravan Parks Association of Queensland, a key body in the Caravan Park industry, was held at Brisbane Holiday Village.
Caravan Park owners and managers from over 60 QLD Parks attended the conference as well as additional well-known personas in the industry. The full 2-day program consisted of a challenging (and funny...) Parkies Olympics, guided tour of BHV, wine tasting and a delicious Seafood BBQ on the first day, with speaker presentations and the 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM), followed by the official conference dinner on the last day.
To accommodate the large number of conference attendees, a temporary structural marquee was erected on the Village’s large, grassed tent site area.

In the last week of August 2011, holiday park chain Family Parks of Australia celebrated their 21st birthday at their annual member’s conference at Brisbane Holiday Village. Approximately 100 park owners and managers attended the conference and the jam-packed two day program consisted of informational seminars, creative member challenges, awards dinners and lots of other fun activities.
Guest speakers included John O’Brien, founder and CEO of PoolWerx, one of the fastest growing franchises in Australia and Fabienne Wintle, managing director of Untangle My Web, a leading online marketing and web strategy consultancy in the tourism industry.
The Family Parks Conference was the first conference of its size held at Brisbane Holiday Village and it was a great success. A temporary 40x20 meter structural marquee had been erected on part of the grassed tent site area for the 70 people attending the conference and quality catering was supplied by our onsite restaurant Sunset Lagoon Cafe.
In November 2011 Brisbane Holiday Village will be hosting its second conference for Caravan Parks Association of Australia which is envisaged to be of a much larger scale.

On Wednesday 9 February, Brisbane Holiday Village welcomed Tourism Minister Peter Lawlor and the CEO of Caravanning Queensland, Ron Chapman, to our very own Sunset Lagoon Cafe for the official launch of Caravanning QLD's $400,000 tourism initiative. Joined by news crews from all major TV Networks, the initiative is an effort to bring back tourism to Queensland after the recent natural disasters have made headlines all over the world and have changed people's perception of the Sunshine State's condition.
Mr Chapman said the aim of this campaign is to dispel the idea that 'Queensland is closed for business'. "Reports we're getting is that there are massive numbers of people cancelling their bookings and people who have holidayed in QLD for years are not rebooking for next year". Like Brisbane Holiday Village, hundreds of tourism operators across the state have been experiencing large numbers of cancellations since the beginning of the year and are keen to get the message out there that 'Queensland is OPEN FOR BUSINESS'.
In an effort to stimulate road travellers to return to QLD, Caravanning QLD, in partnership with Jayco Caravans, is giving away a Brand New Caravan worth $50,000 to one lucky tourist who stays at an associated Caravanning QLD member park between 1 March 2011 and 31 January 2012. So plan that trip to QLD and fill out an entry form at a member park to go in to draw! The more parks you stay in, the more chances you'll have to WIN!

Over the past 2 years Brisbane Holiday Village has invested significantly in upgrading cabins and facilities throughout the park. There was the introduction of the brand new Vogue Cabins, the new Recepetion and Guest Lounge area, the refurbishment of amenity blocks and currently we are expanding our onsite cafe with a large undercover patio adding approx. 30 tables to the capacity.
In order to promote our new and improved park to guests and potential customers we have produced some high def promotional video's to illustrate why BHV is the best South East QLD holiday destination. There are video's for every cabin type, facilties, caravanning & campers and a general promo video all BHV has to offer as well as some of the attractions of South East QLD.

AAA Tourism undertook its annual Star Rating inspection of Brisbane Holiday Village recently (9 April 2010) and awarded the Village a 5-Star rating for its new Vogue Cabins, under the Australian Tourist/Caravan Park STAR Rating Scheme.
With this recognition, Brisbane Holiday Village is now one of only two Tourist/Holiday Parks in Australia to have achieved the highest rating for cabin accommodation.
The Village’s additional three holiday cabin styles, branded the Cosmo Cabin, Alfresco Cabin and Metro Cabin, along with the two-bedroom Semi Permanent Cabins also rated high in the Scheme. The Cosmo Cabin scored an impressive 4.5 Star, where the Alfresco, Metro and Semi Permanent Cabins all scored a 4 Star rating.
An overall 4.5 Star rating was awarded to the property, confirming Brisbane Holiday Village’s well-appointed accommodation throughout and its exceptional standard of facilities and guest services.
Ken Illich, Development Manager of Brisbane Holiday Village, said, “Year in and year out we work hard and smart to keep ahead of our competitors and with this recognition we are proving to be doing just that. The accommodation and facilities we have on offer at Brisbane Holiday Village are more of what you would expect from a resort than a tourist park.”
In addition to the accommodation and property ratings, Brisbane Holiday Village received an Eco-Friendly Star, rewarding its commitment and care for the environment. Brisbane Holiday Village adopts state-of-the-art water and energy saving systems and is proud to be considered an Eco-Friendly Australian caravan park.

Brisbane Holiday Village is the proud winner of the 2009/10 Queensland Tourism Award for best Caravan Park in the "Tourist and Caravan Parks" Category. The Management of Brisbane Holiday Village was presented the prestigeous award at the Awards ceremony held on Friday 13 November 2009. Despite it being "black Friday", Brisbane Holiday Village scooped gold!
Ken Illich, Development Manager of Brisbane Holiday Village, said, "We are so excited about our win in the 2009/10 Queensland Tourism Awards. It is indicative of the great support we have from our valued customers and staff, and the many improvements we have carried out recently."
“We have been working hard and smart to keep ahead of our competitors. This year we designed and installed some luxury cabins [called Vogue Cabins, which will soon be operational], with the appointments you would expect in an upmarket apartment. We have also been working on some new facilities, upgrades to existing accommodation and facilities and adopting state-of-the-art water and energy saving systems. These are just some of the improvements we have undertaken recently.”
Ken said, “The caravan park industry is evolving and our aim is to be ahead of the game. Guests are expecting more upmarket accommodation, extensive facilities and environmentally friendly business practices, and we are providing just that.”
“There seems to be a shift towards cabin accommodation throughout Australia, perhaps because caravan parks offer such extensive facilities and good value for money. Plus, there’s room for the kids to run around and the guests can save money by preparing their own meals in the self-contained holiday cabins. Caravanning is also increasingly popular,” Ken said.
