Brisbane Holiday Village (BHV) was built in 1984 and was previously known as Dress Circle Mobile Village & Caravan Park with 216 caravan sites and basic facilities. The current owners (the Illich family) purchased the property in October 1987 and immediately made some dramatic changes in preparation for the 1988 World Expo in Brisbane. Land was cleared and landscaped for 30 more powered caravan sites and a new camping area. Over the years many more improvements were made to establish a relaxed holiday environment, including:
* an additional 40 sites, new amenity building & laundry;
* holiday cabin accommodation;
* additional on-site facilities and services; and
* a unique theme, new logo and name change.
In 2000, the family’s hard work was rewarded when BHV was one of the first caravan parks in Australia to be accredited by the Caravan Industry of Australia (CIA). Winning the Brisbane and Queensland Tourism Awards in 2001 and the HMAAQ Award for Excellence in 2004 followed this success.
BHV is now a member of the Top Tourist Parks chain and has over 300 sites comprised of holiday cabins, powered caravan sites, ensuite sites, camp sites, semi-permanent and permanent cabins. The Village also boasts a range of on-site recreational facilities, linked together by an Ancient Inca theme:
* The Inca Trail, 18 hole putt-putt course;
* Lagoon of the Sun, pool area;
* Court of the Warriors, tennis court;
* Temple of the Terrors, playground area and more!
BHV has remained an Australian Family Owned and Operated Business only 12 minutes from the Brisbane CBD. This lush 33-acre property with perfectly maintained facilities and high quality accommodation is rare so close to a central business district!
